Applying for a certificate of good conduct
Applying for a certificate of good conduct
The application for a certificate of good conduct must always be submitted to the registration office responsible for the applicant's place of residence. It is irrelevant whether the person concerned is registered with a main or secondary residence. The application must be made in person. Legal representation is not permitted. This prohibition also applies to lawyers and spouses.
The processing time at the Federal Central Register is approximately two to three weeks. The private conduct certificate is sent directly to the applicant by post. The authority management certificate is sent directly to the prior designated authority. (In this case, it is possible to inspect it beforehand at a district court, which is pointed out when applying)
Thanks to the new electronic ID card, it is possible to submit the application online to the Federal Office of Justice if the online ID card function is activated.
