Trade registration, trade re-registration and trade deregistration
Anyone who starts the independent operation of a standing trade or the operation of a branch office or a dependent branch office must report this. The same applies if the business is relocated, the subject matter of the business is changed or extended to include goods or services that are not customary for businesses of the type registered, the name of the trader is changed or the business is discontinued.
The delivery of the trade registration can be done in person, by post (Stadtverwaltung Pirna – Gewerbeangelegenheiten-Am Markt 1/2-01796 Pirna) or also by email. In any case, the trade registration must be completed in full, signed, and include as an attachment a copy of your identity card, or passport with the most recent certificate of registration.
To see what other requirements may need to be met, see the notes below. In the case of an in-person visit, it is not necessary to fill out the form.
Please note that personal appearances at the department of order, security, trade affairs are possible in the interest of the employees and preferably by prior appointment.
Please check if an in-person appointment is necessary or if your concern needs to be addressed in writing, by phone or by email.
If the notification is sent via the online procedure, we require a signature on the PDF form generated at the end for processing. To establish the identity of the person making the notification, please send us a copy of your identity card, or passport with the last certificate of registration. Both documents can be sent to us by email. You will find the email address on the associated form.
When all the documents are complete, you will receive the trade registration certificate and the fee notice by mail.

If the operation of a (standing) trade is to be commenced within the City of Pirna, this must be notified to the Pirna municipal administration. The same applies to the operation of a branch office or a dependent branch.
The following documents must be submitted for business registration in writing:
Copy of identity card or passport with last certificate of registration
Foreign traders (non-EU)
Copy of the residence permit required for the activity to be registered
Legal entities
Copy of an uncertified extract from the Commercial Register
GmbH in foundation
Copy of the notarized shareholder agreement/deed of incorporation and the power of attorney of the founders
Foreign legal entities
Proof of registration in the Commercial Register and a certified translation into German
Craftspeople
Proof of registration with the relevant Chamber of Trade
Trade subject to licensing
Copy of the relevant permit or concession; additional documents may be required

A trade re-registration is mandatory when
- the registered office of the company is moved within the city,
- the subject of the trade changed,
- the name of the trader is changed or
- the subject of the trade is expanded.
In addition, it is possible to re-register a trade in the event of the following changes: e.g. change of main occupation/sideline occupation, change of residential address, change of managing director.
For a written business re-registration, the following documents must be submitted – depending on the reason for the re-registration:
Copy of identity card or passport with last certificate of registration
Foreign traders (non-EU)
Copy of the residence permit required for the activity to be registered
Legal entities
Copy of an uncertified extract from the Commercial Register
GmbH in foundation
Copy of the notarized shareholder agreement/deed of incorporation and the power of attorney of the founders

If the operation of a trade is abandoned, it must be deregistered. The same applies if the operation of the trade is moved to another municipality. The business must then be deregistered in the former municipality and, if continued, registered in the new municipality/city. Likewise, in the event of a change in legal form, a business deregistration and then a new business registration must be made.
The following documents must be submitted for a written trade deregistration:

Agriculture and forestry
Agriculture and forestry
Anyone who establishes a business in the field of agriculture and forestry (the so-called primary production) only has to notify the agricultural or forestry activity within one month. There is no obligation to register a trade according to Section 14 Gewerbeordnung.
The form "Notification of Agriculture and Forestry" can be used to start an agricultural business.
If changes have occurred in an existing agricultural business or if it is intended to give up gainful employment, please use the form "Change/abandonment of agriculture and forestry".
After the notification of the commencement of gainful employment in a business of agriculture and forestry according to Section 138 AO (Tax Code), there is an additional obligation to submit to the tax office a completed questionnaire for tax registration.
A scaled fee of between 10.00 euros and 40.00 euros is charged for each notification.
